Superman Returns

My friend Rudy had a very positive initial reaction the the movie. Overall I have to agree with his review of Superman Returns. The movie is suprising almost 2 hour and 34 minutes long, but I think the length was perfect. It was just enough to keep you interested while not boring you to death. To save time some of the Lex Luthor filler could have been removed. Then ending left a lot of room for a series, which I’m sure will come.

I do think another person should have been cast instead of the actor who portrays Cyclops in X-Men. The producers should have kept their comic actors seperate. Overall I give the movie 8 out 10.

Just got back from seeing Superman Returns and all I can say is that this movie is the best comic book movie I have ever seen. This is coming from a Batman guy who thought Batman Begins was a masterpiece and Spiderman 2 was the emotional centerpiece of comic book films.

There is some much to relate to in this movie and I will not spoil it for you, but it touched me on a level I have not felt in years. Like I was a kid again. Seriously, it throws you back to our childhoods and I was really shocked by it.

I was VERY skeptical of the reviews that praised it so highly, especially the ones that said it was the best comic book movie ever. I was wrong. Completely wrong. This movie is a masterpiece made for the ages, like the old films. The funny part is that they play with the lore and it works. Even stranger is the fact that this IS A DATE MOVIE. Bring a girl along, as I did, and it has something for everyone. I can even take Celeste and not worry about her hearing or seeing anything detrimental to her development. I want her to enjoy being a child and seeing this movie makes me remember what it was like as a child. You think we, as a people, can do good in the world, if we wish to. If we wish to……
