Picasa Web Albums by Google

At first I was thinking, “Yipee, I get to play with another fun coolio application by Google (No link needed).” I began by starting to set up my first album… filling in the title, date, description and place taken. Everything seems to be going well until I hit the create button. Busted! Foiled again by another windows only application in development by Google. I’m sure a mac version is shortly on the way. Afterall isn’t this a web based application anyways? Hopefully the Google Development Team isn’t using proprietary .NET coding. Why else would this web based application called Picasa Web Albums not be available for online Apple computer users? Beats me. Below is the message that foiled my fun:

Web Albums is a feature of Picasa which is currently only available on Windows. If you’d like to try uploading photos anyway, click the New Album button in the upper right corner to get started.

“Currently only available on Windows”. Pfff welcome to the web where applications should work on any platform. So there you have it, My Public Gallery with no pictures to be found.
