Flickrmap v2

Flickrmap has released version 2. Here’s a list of what’s new:

  • * Route lines linking photos into trips based on a start and end photo.
  • * Google Earth KML link.
  • * Slide show for latest photos and for each location.
  • * Google Maps version (under development).
  • * Scroll through unlimited photos per location.
  • * Improved map display and navigation.
  • * Free and Premium subscription versions (get your friends to try it out!)
  • * Background processing of photos. No more manually refreshing your photos.
  • * Map files hosted on Amazon’s super speedy S3 service.

The Premium version of the map is now $9.75/year. For those of you that don’t have the downloadable html beta of flickrmap, Version one will be turned off in a months time.

Flickrmap is a great way to show your photography with a geographic gallery. If you like to travel or want to show others pictures of your travels this is a great tool. You can set the image city / state tags, geotags or GPS EXIF data to organize your pictures by location. If you are running Google Earth you can also use that to preview your pictures. And a Google Maps version is in the works.

I probably won’t personally upgrade for the time being, because I haven’t been traveling enough.
