Flash Gallery
Do you want an easy to install Flash image gallery? Based on my research here are a few nice examples. Some of these are free flash galleries. Others are for a minimal purchase price.
- SlideShowPro: For $20 (via PayPal) this Flash gallery comes with an assortment of power. You can import image descriptions via an external XML file. You can sync the photo gallery with your personal Flickr account. It is a very customizable photo gallery which even includes watermark protection for those photographers worrying about piracy issues. Overall this is a steal for the price.
- SimpleViewer: This gallery by AIRTIGHT Interactive is very versatile. There are 4 major photo gallery versions of the program. These versions range from a php, asp, manual upload, an admin panel and more. The basic version is free. But to get the actual FLA you must pay $15 fee (via PayPal). Again, this Flash gallery is well worth the purchase price. Like the SlideShowPro the information of each photo is pulled from an externall XML file. I’ve personally used this on a project and it’s very easy to use and install.
- Flickrmap: And finally we have Flickrmap, which is actually a Flash photography solution for Flickr. With this Flash tool, photos are displayed via a geotag by location on a world map. For those of you that travel and are looking for a way to display your photos by geographic location, this is a great solution for you. It comes with a customizable xml configuration file. You’ll also notice the Flickrmap link above on the navigation. It’s a basic example of what can be done with the program.
Overall I’m very impressed with each of these solutions as a Flash photography gallery. Which all of the choices I can guarantee one of these choices will fix your personal website needs.
